The Theosophist is a monthly magazine founded by Elena Petrovna Blavatsky in 1879 in India, covering various issues of the philosophical, religious and cultural life of India and other countries. Elena Petrovna has been the editor-in-chief of the magazine since its inception and until 1885 - before leaving India for Europe. The journal is published by the Theosophical Society (Adyar, Madras, India) to this day.
